Permanent makeup that looks like you — only softer.

Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing and a customized artistic service, designed for your face, skin, brow pattern and features. Reference photos guide the design but cannot be replicated exactly. Your result will be uniquely yours.

Because each treatment is a personalized artistic service performed on your body, all deposits and payments for treatments are non-refundable once paid. The initial treatment and the first touch-up are separate services, booked and billed separately — the $600 initial treatment price does not include the touch-up — and each is non-refundable once paid. Please book only when you are sure.

What you see on the day is not the final result. The surface may look healed after about a week, but healing continues under the skin for up to six weeks as the colour settles into the new skin. True results are assessed only after full healing (typically 4–6 weeks) and your touch-up. Healed outcomes depend on factors outside the artist's control, including:

• Skin type, thickness, oiliness, undertone and condition
• Age, hormones, medications, immune response and overall health
• Sun exposure, tanning, swimming, smoking, heavy sweating and skincare actives (including retinoids and exfoliants)
• How closely aftercare instructions are followed

Longevity is typically 1 to 3+ years with proper care, and will vary on the same factors above. No specific healed result, shade, symmetry or longevity can be guaranteed.

The perfecting touch-up at about 8 weeks after your initial session is an essential part of finishing the work — and it is a separate service, billed at $100. It is not included in the $600 initial treatment price (or the $700 corrective initial price). Any additional touch-ups beyond that first touch-up are also $100 each. Refreshes for May's existing clients: within 2 years $300 · 2–4 years $450 · after 4 years $600.

If you have existing permanent makeup from another artist, this is corrective work:

• A separate consultation is required first — corrective work cannot be booked without it, so May can assess existing pigment, shape and skin.
• Skin that already holds pigment, or has scar tissue / damage from previous work, is previously compromised skin. Retention, colour blending and symmetry on compromised skin are unpredictable and less controllable than on virgin skin.
• Multiple sessions are commonly needed. Additional touch-ups are routinely recommended to build the best possible result, at $100 per additional session.
• A fully corrected, covered or “like new” outcome cannot be guaranteed. In some cases May will recommend laser removal before any new work is attempted.
• Corrective pricing: $700 initial session, with the first touch-up at ~8 weeks billed separately at $100; additional touch-ups $100 each as required.

You must be 18 or older (photo ID may be requested). Before treatment you must disclose medical conditions, all medications (especially blood thinners and acne medications), pregnancy or breastfeeding, diabetes, tendency to keloid / hypertrophic scarring, skin conditions in the treatment area, allergies, and recent Botox, fillers, peels or other skin procedures. May may decline, postpone or refer you elsewhere if a treatment appears unsuitable or unsafe — your safety comes before the appointment.

As with any cosmetic tattooing, risks can include sensitivity or allergic reaction to pigments, numbing or aftercare products, infection, scarring, pigment migration / colour change over time, and dissatisfaction with shape or colour as it heals. A patch test is available on request before your appointment. Following all pre-care and aftercare guidance reduces risk but does not eliminate it.

Detailed aftercare is provided at your appointment and must be followed exactly. Poor healing from not following aftercare — picking or scratching, water / steam / sun exposure, makeup or actives too soon — is not the artist's responsibility, and any correction needed for that reason is billed at standard touch-up rates.

Before-and-after photos are taken at every appointment as part of your client record — this is required for your treatment documentation. Your photos are used for marketing (website, Instagram, portfolio) only with your separate written consent, which you may decline or withdraw at any time.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment; it is applied to your service total. To reschedule, at least 48 hours' notice is required — one complimentary reschedule is allowed and your deposit transfers to the new date. No-shows and cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice forfeit the deposit, and a new deposit is required to rebook. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may require rescheduling and is treated as a late cancellation (deposit forfeited).
